The United States, ranked 19th in T20Is, stunned ninth-ranked Bangladesh with a five-wicket victory in Texas, leading the three-match series 1-0. Chasing 154, former India Under-19 cricketer Harmeet Singh hit three consecutive sixes and finished unbeaten on 33 off 13 balls, sharing an unbroken 62-run partnership with Corey Anderson, who scored 34 not out.
The USA’s bowlers restricted Bangladesh to 153 for 6. Litton Das and Najmul Hossain Shanto struggled, but Towhid Hridoy’s 58 and Mahmudullah’s 31 helped the visitors post a competitive score. Despite early wickets, Harmeet’s late assault turned the game, with the USA needing 50 off the last 20 balls. Harmeet hit two sixes off Mustafizur Rahman, and Anderson’s crucial six in the final over sealed the win.
The USA’s victory marks their second win against a Full Member in T20Is, following their triumph over Ireland in 2021.
