Narendra Modi Government’s Funds Benefitted Punjab Across Various Sectors: Punjab BJP President
Punjab BJP president Sunil Jakhar emphasized on Sunday that the people of the state have greatly benefited from the “massive” funds provided by the Narendra Modi government over the past decade. Addressing a press conference, Jakhar highlighted that the funds disbursed by the Modi government, through flagship and other schemes, have positively impacted sectors such as social security, agriculture, health, infrastructure, welfare, railways, housing, power, and employment in Punjab.
Jakhar underscored that the central assistance received by Punjab has played a crucial role in elevating the state’s socio-economic status. He asserted that the BJP-led government at the Centre has consistently supported Punjab’s growth without bias, contrasting this with what he described as the “false narrative” propagated by the ruling AAP dispensation.
The Punjab BJP president outlined various schemes and their tangible impacts on the state’s economy and society. He criticized the AAP government for failing to deliver on many of its electoral promises. Jakhar highlighted initiatives such as free ration distribution, affordable healthcare, subsidised medicines, financial security under MNREGA, skill development schemes, pension schemes, and support for small businesses and street vendors.
Jakhar particularly emphasized the positive impact of schemes like the Kisan Samman Nidhi, Kisan Credit Card scheme, Soil Health Card scheme, and subsidies on fertilisers on the income of farmers in Punjab. He noted that nearly 22.5 lakh farmers in Punjab had received around ₹56,754 crore under the Kisan Credit Card scheme in the last decade.
