Sonakshi Sinha, alongside her Heeramandi co-stars, recently appeared on The Great Indian Kapil Show, where she shared insights into the personal lives of her colleagues. During the episode, Sonakshi mentioned how some of her co-stars, including Richa Chadha and Sharmin Segal, experienced significant life events while filming for the Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed web series.
Sonakshi humorously remarked on her own unmarried status despite the milestones of her peers. Richa Chadha, who portrays a role in Heeramandi, had tied the knot with actor Ali Fazal in October 2023 and announced her pregnancy in February 2024. Sharmin Segal, another cast member, had also gotten married around the same time.
Additionally, Sonakshi mentioned Aditi Rao Hydari’s engagement to actor Siddharth, which was announced in March 2024, further highlighting the series’ cast’s personal developments during the filming period.
“Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar,” marking Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s foray into the OTT space, premiered on Netflix on May 1. The series delves into the intricacies of Heeramandi, a vibrant district, against the backdrop of India’s freedom struggle in the 1940s. Featuring a star-studded ensemble including Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Sanjeeda Shaikh, the show promises to unravel tales of love, power, and revenge amidst a cultural tapestry.
