Alia Bhatt emerged as the most prominent figure at the Met Gala 2024, stunning the internet with her elegant appearance in a Sabyasachi saree. Surpassing renowned celebrities like Kendall Jenner and Kim Kardashian, Alia’s presence was highlighted in a report by influencer marketing platform Lefty. Her attire, designed by Sabyasachi, featured intricate hand embroidery and paid homage to the event’s theme, “The Garden of Time.”
Crafted by 163 artisans, Alia’s saree extended into a 30-foot-trail and was adorned with silk floss, beads, sequins, and semi-precious stones. The hand-crafted blouse complemented the ensemble with its embellishments of emeralds, Basra pearls, and multi-colored sapphires. To enhance the look further, Alia accessorized with jewelry from Sabyasachi High Jewellery’s Bengal Royal collection, featuring tourmalines, sapphires, emeralds, and diamonds.
Taking to Instagram, Alia expressed gratitude for the collaborative effort behind her outfit, acknowledging the dedication of the craftsmen and artisans involved. She described the creation process as both fun and stressful, requiring a total of 1965-man hours. Alia’s appearance at the Met Gala marked her second outing at the prestigious event, following her debut in 2023 with a Prabal Gurung gown.
