Gippy Grewal Recalls Financial Struggles Amid Father’s Illness: “Regrets His Early Demise”
Renowned Punjabi actor and singer Gippy Grewal opened up about the financial hardships his family endured when his father fell ill. Speaking in an interview with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel, Grewal revealed the challenges they faced when his father suffered a stroke and required a kidney transplant during his teenage years.
Reflecting on the difficult period, Grewal expressed regret that his father couldn’t witness his success, emphasizing their close bond and his father’s pivotal role in his career. Despite belonging to an agricultural family, they had to sell their land to meet medical expenses. Grewal lamented, “He wasn’t there to see my success, and that’s something that I’ll always regret.”
Additionally, Grewal commented on AP Dhillon’s recent guitar-smashing incident at Coachella, stating that while he doesn’t understand the context, he believes it might have been a part of Dhillon’s act. He stressed that artists never intend to hurt sentiments but sometimes things don’t go as planned.
Looking ahead, Grewal has several projects lined up, including “Phatte Dinde Chakk Punjabi,” “Manje Bistre 3,” and “Widow Colony,” showcasing his versatility in both acting and singing domains.
