Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to hold a grand roadshow in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday, April 6, marking the beginning of BJP’s campaign for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in western Uttar Pradesh. The roadshow, expected to witness participation from over two lakh people, will commence from Maliwara Chowk in Naya Ganj and culminate at Chaudhary Mod in Gandhi Nagar, Ghaziabad.
To ensure smooth conduct of the event, the Ghaziabad traffic police have issued an advisory urging commuters to avoid certain routes throughout the day. Heavy deployment of police and security personnel is planned across the city, with stringent measures in place for vehicle movement and public safety.
Notably, movement of heavy and commercial vehicles will be restricted from 1 pm onwards along several key stretches, including Chaudhary Mod to Lal Kuan and Alt intersection to Meerut Tiraha. Additionally, private two-wheelers and four-wheelers will not be permitted on 14 major road stretches in Ghaziabad on the day of the roadshow.
The traffic police have also outlined specific timings for the restriction of auto-rickshaws and e-rickshaws, ensuring minimal disruption to public transport services. Parking arrangements have been made at the Nehru Nagar auditorium, while approximately 6,000 police personnel have been deployed across the city to manage the event.
