Nearly 400 IndiGo Passengers Stranded at Istanbul Airport for Over 24 Hours
  • PublishedDecember 13, 2024

Around 400 IndiGo passengers en route to Delhi and Mumbai have been stranded at Istanbul airport for over 24 hours, citing operational delays as the cause. Frustrated passengers shared their grievances on social media, alleging lack of food, accommodation, and communication from the airline.

One passenger revealed their flight, originally scheduled for December 12 at 8:15 PM, was delayed to 10 AM the next day without proper updates or support. Another described overcrowded airport lounges and no alternative flight arrangements. Complaints also highlighted the absence of IndiGo staff at the gate, leaving passengers to rely on information from Turkish Airlines.

IndiGo responded to some posts, apologizing for the inconvenience and promising follow-up communication. However, passengers criticized the airline’s lack of accountability and demanded compensation for the ordeal.

This incident comes amid IndiGo being ranked among the “world’s worst airlines” in a 2024 AirHelp Score report, scoring low in customer satisfaction and disruption handling. IndiGo disputed the findings, defending its commitment to a seamless travel experience.
