Mumbai Police Investigate Snapchat Connection in Baba Siddique’s Murder Case.
In a shocking development in the murder of former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique, the Mumbai Police revealed that a photo of his son, Zeeshan Siddique, was found on the accused’s phone. The image, shared via Snapchat, is believed to have been used to assist the shooters in identifying Zeeshan. Zeeshan Siddique, a Congress MLA representing Vandre East and President of Mumbai Youth Congress, has been a focal point of the investigation.
Baba Siddique was tragically shot dead on Dussehra outside his son’s office while celebrating the festival. Of the three shooters, two — Gurmail Singh and Dharmaraj Kashyap — have been arrested, while the third, Shivkumar Gautam, remains on the run. A fourth suspect, Harish Kumar Balakram Nisad, was arrested in Uttar Pradesh and brought to Mumbai for further investigation.
According to police reports, the accused used Snapchat and Instagram to communicate and share information, leveraging the apps’ disappearing message feature to avoid detection. Police also discovered that the suspects had learned how to use firearms through YouTube tutorials while staying in rented accommodation in Kurla, Mumbai.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the murder. In a Facebook post, a gang member cited Siddique’s alleged connections with Bollywood star Salman Khan and underworld figures like Dawood Ibrahim as motives. This gang has previously targeted Salman Khan, issuing threats and firing shots outside his Mumbai residence.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to capture the remaining suspects and unravel the full conspiracy behind the murder.
