Akshay Kumar and Karan Johar’s Film on C Sankaran Nair Set to Release in March 2025.
Dharma Productions announces that the highly anticipated film based on the life of C Sankaran Nair, featuring Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, and Ananya Panday, is scheduled to release on March 14, 2025. The announcement was made via social media on October 18.
Set against the historical backdrop of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, the film explores the remarkable journey of Indian lawyer and statesman C Sankaran Nair, who courageously challenged the British Empire to acknowledge the horrific events of that fateful day. Inspired by real-life events, the film draws from the book The Case That Shook The Empire, authored by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat.
The untitled project, directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, promises to be a compelling courtroom drama, with Akshay Kumar portraying the pivotal role of Nair. The production house’s official note highlights the film as an unprecedented battle against the British Empire, focusing on the shocking cover-up of the massacre.
As Akshay Kumar gears up for this impactful role, he has also recently wrapped up filming for his upcoming comedy, Housefull 5. Despite facing a challenging phase at the box office, Kumar’s lineup of films, including Jolly LLB 3, Singham Again, and Sky Force, continues to build anticipation among fans.
