Flipkart Delivery Agent Murdered While Delivering iPhone in Lucknow; Suspect Arrested.
A tragic incident unfolded in Lucknow’s Chinhat station area as Bharat Kumar, a 30-year-old delivery agent for Flipkart, was brutally murdered while delivering an iPhone using the cash-on-delivery (COD) payment option. The suspect, identified as Gajanan, ordered the phone worth ₹1.5 lakh and allegedly strangled Bharat with the help of an accomplice, Akash.
Bharat Kumar, a resident of Mahanagar under Nishatganj police station area, had been working as a delivery agent for the past eight years. He left home on September 23 to complete deliveries but did not return, prompting his brother Prem Kumar to file a missing person complaint two days later.
After receiving the complaint, police began investigating, scanning Bharat’s call details and tracking his last known location. CCTV footage and surveillance data led them to the suspect. Akash, Gajanan’s accomplice, was detained for questioning, and the crime was revealed.
The accused reportedly stuffed Bharat’s body into a gunny sack and dumped it in the Indira Canal. Efforts by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are ongoing to recover the body.
Authorities have informed Bharat’s family, and police are continuing the investigation into the motive behind this heinous act. This tragedy has raised concerns about the safety of delivery personnel, as they often face dangerous situations during their work. Flipkart and local authorities have expressed their condolences to the victim’s family.
