Celebrated actor and former MP Mithun Chakraborty will be honored with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award, recognizing his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema. Director Vivek Agnihotri, who has collaborated with Chakraborty on films such as The Tashkent Files and The Kashmir Files, praised the veteran actor, calling him “one of the best actors India has ever produced.” Agnihotri highlighted Chakraborty’s deep understanding of cinema, adding, “I wasn’t fortunate to work with him in his younger days, but when the industry had almost forgotten him, I brought him into my films, and he became the soul of the trilogy.”
