Aanand L Rai on Collaborating with Dhanush for ‘Tere Ishq Mein’.

Celebrated filmmaker Aanand L Rai, known for his unique take on love stories, is once again collaborating with actor Dhanush for his upcoming film Tere Ishq Mein. Having previously worked together on Raanjhanaa (2013) and Atrangi Re (2021), Rai shares a deep sense of comfort with Dhanush, citing him as an actor capable of bringing layered and complex characters to life.

In a recent interview, Rai expressed his trust in Dhanush’s talent, stating, “Dhanush falls in my comfort zone. When I challenge myself with layered stories, I need great pillars to support me, and Dhanush is one of them.”

For Tere Ishq Mein, Rai has brought together his frequent collaborators, including AR Rahman for music, lyricist Irshad Kamil, and writer Himanshu Sharma. Rai emphasized the importance of teamwork, adding, “I never say I can make it alone. I want these people to help me. That’s the bond and comfort.”

While hinting at thematic similarities between Tere Ishq Mein and Raanjhanaa, Rai clarified that the new film is a unique creation. “It’s from the world of Raanjhanaa, but it’s not a sequel. Both are tragedies, filled with emotions, anger, and rage, but they are distinct stories.”

Speculation is rife that actress Triptii Dimri will play the female lead, though Rai has yet to confirm this, teasing an announcement soon. He noted, “We are working on one of the finest, most complex characters for this film.”
