Indian-American CEO Shares Disappointing Experience on Air India Flight.
  • PublishedSeptember 19, 2024

Anip Patel, CEO of CaPatel Investments, took to social media to express his dissatisfaction with his recent Air India flight experience. Traveling from New Delhi to Chicago in a business-class seat, Patel described the experience as the “worst” first-class cabin he had ever been on, despite paying $6,300 for the ticket. His video, posted on TikTok, has garnered significant attention as he candidly shared his disappointment with the flight.

Patel described the food as mediocre, except for the soup, which he called “the only good thing on the flight.” He also highlighted the malfunctioning entertainment system, which remained non-operational for the entire 15-hour journey, and criticized the condition of the cabin, showing taped-up walls.

“This was the worst first-class cabin I’ve ever been on,” Patel said in the video, which quickly went viral. “Everything was broken, and it felt like a nightmare.”

Air India has recently launched a $400 million refurbishment program aimed at upgrading its fleet of 67 aircraft to improve passenger experience. Despite the airline’s promise of a revamped service, Patel’s experience raises concerns about whether these improvements are effectively reaching customers.

The airline has yet to respond to Patel’s complaints, but with its refurbishment initiative underway, Air India aims to elevate its passenger experience to a world-class standard.
