Building Collapse in Delhi’s Karol Bagh, Rescue Operations Underway.

A portion of a two-storey residential building in Delhi’s Karol Bagh area collapsed on Wednesday morning, with several people feared trapped under the debris. The incident occurred around 9:11 AM, prompting a swift response from the Delhi Fire Services.

At least five fire tenders were dispatched to the scene to assist in the ongoing search and rescue efforts. Rescue teams are currently working diligently to locate and extract those trapped. The cause of the collapse is suspected to be linked to the heavy rains that have been affecting the national capital in recent days.

Authorities have cordoned off the area to ensure the safety of residents and bystanders. Emergency services, including the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), have also been alerted, and nearby residents have been evacuated as a precautionary measure.

In a statement, a Delhi Fire Services official said, “We are working round the clock to rescue those trapped under the debris. Our priority is to ensure their safety and get them out as quickly as possible.”

This incident follows a similar collapse in Delhi’s Model Town area last month, where three people were injured when a building, under demolition, fell during heavy rain.
