Elon Musk Comments on Assassination Attempt on Donald Trump, Sparks Controversy.
Tech billionaire Elon Musk has stirred controversy with his recent remarks on X (formerly Twitter) following an alleged assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump in Florida. In a post, Musk questioned why no similar attempts have been made on current US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, igniting a political firestorm.
The incident occurred outside a Florida golf course where Trump was playing. Gunshots were fired, and the suspect fled the scene, leaving behind an AK-47-style assault rifle before being arrested by US authorities. This marks the second such attempt on Trump’s life in recent months, following a previous shooting at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania in which Trump sustained a minor injury.
In response to a user’s question, “Why they want to kill Donald Trump?”, Musk controversially replied, “And no one is even trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala.” Musk’s remarks have drawn criticism and raised concerns about the impact of such statements in an already tense political climate.
Trump’s campaign communications director, Steven Cheung, confirmed the former president is safe, while Trump reassured his supporters in a statement: “I AM SAFE AND WELL! Nothing will slow me down. I will NEVER SURRENDER!”
Earlier this year, Musk publicly extended his support to Trump in the upcoming US Presidential elections, with Trump also praising Musk for his leadership at X and hinting at a potential role for the Tesla CEO in his administration should he win.
