2,144-Page Chargesheet Filed Against Former MP Prajwal Revanna and Father in Sex Scandal Case
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Karnataka’s Crime Investigation Department (CID) has filed a comprehensive 2,144-page chargesheet against former Janata Dal Secular (JDS) MP Prajwal Revanna and his father, JDS MLA H D Revanna, in connection with a high-profile sex scandal. The chargesheet was submitted to the Special People’s Court in Bengaluru, marking a significant development in the ongoing investigation.
The chargesheet pertains to four cases of sexual assault and harassment, including allegations that Prajwal Revanna sexually assaulted a domestic helper employed by the family. The SIT’s investigation gathered extensive evidence, including spot inspections, biological, physical, scientific, mobile, digital, and circumstantial evidence. The team also sought expert opinions to strengthen the case.
The scandal gained public attention after explicit videos allegedly involving Prajwal Revanna were circulated ahead of the Lok Sabha elections for the Hassan constituency. Although Revanna denied the allegations, claiming the videos were morphed, the SIT has pressed forward with its investigation.
The charges against Prajwal Revanna and his father include sexual harassment of a domestic cook and her daughter. The JD(S) party suspended the former MP, who has been in custody since his arrest on May 31.
This case is one of three sexual assault cases and one sexual harassment case registered against Prajwal Revanna. The SIT’s chargesheet submission is a pivotal moment in the pursuit of justice for the victims.
