Tamil Star Vijay Unveils Party Flag, Promises a Victorious Future for Tamil Nadu
Tamil superstar Vijay officially marked his entry into politics with the unveiling of the flag for his political party, Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), on August 22. The flag, featuring a maroon and yellow color scheme with elephants on each side and a peacock surrounded by stars at the center, was hoisted at the Panaiyur party office. Vijay also released an official anthem for the party, composed by popular music director S Thaman, with lyrics by V Vivek.
During the event, Vijay expressed his pride in launching the party’s emblem and symbol, emphasizing his commitment to the welfare and development of Tamil Nadu. “Tamil Nadu will be better from now on. Victory is sure,” he declared, instilling confidence in his supporters. Vijay has previously announced that TVK will contest the 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly elections independently, without aligning with any political bloc.
The flag unveiling is a precursor to a massive rally planned for late September in Vikravandi, northern Tamil Nadu, where the party will be formally introduced to the public. The registration of TVK with the Election Commission is nearing completion, further solidifying Vijay’s political ambitions.
Over 300 TVK workers and members of Vijay’s fan clubs attended the event, reflecting the growing support for the actor-turned-politician. Vijay’s entry into politics is seen as a significant development in Tamil Nadu’s political landscape, with his popularity and promise of change resonating with many.
