Tamannaah Backs John Abraham Amid Criticism Over Film Choices: Don’t Judge ‘Vedaa’
At the recent trailer launch of the much-anticipated film ‘Vedaa’, John Abraham faced criticism for his perceived repetitive action roles. Co-star Tamannaah Bhatia, who has a cameo in the film, has stepped forward in defense, emphasizing the unique elements that set ‘Vedaa’ apart.
“Don’t judge Vedaa by its cover,” Tamannaah stated on X. “Trust me when I say, it’s more than just an action film! My friend @TheJohnAbraham, one of the nation’s favorite action heroes, is bringing his incredible influence to a genre he’s mastered. This time, he’s telling a different kind of story through action, showing just how deeply this genre can convey meaningful cinematic experiences today.”
Tamannaah expressed excitement over Nikhil Advani’s return to the director’s chair after several years, adding a layer of anticipation to the film. She praised co-star Sharvari, highlighting her stellar performance, and conveyed her enthusiasm about the film’s release. “Although my contribution to the film is modest, I’m genuinely excited about its release and to have partnered with John, Nikhil sir, Sharvari, Abhishek Banerjee, and the entire crew of Vedaa. Our film promises to bring a fresh perspective to action films in our country, and I feel everyone would love to experience this new story on the big screen.”
Controversy arose when John Abraham expressed his displeasure at the trailer launch after a journalist suggested his action films were repetitive. In response, John asked, “‘Aapne film dekhi hai’ (Have you seen the film)? Can I call out bad questions and idiots?”
‘Vedaa’, an action-thriller directed by Nikkhil Advani and featuring Abhishek Banerjee as the antagonist, is set to release on August 15. The film also includes cameo appearances by Tamannaah Bhatia and Mouni Roy.
