Actor Gurpreet Ghuggi, known for his roles in numerous Punjabi films, including the upcoming ‘Ni Main Sass Kutni 2’, reflects on the significant changes he has witnessed in the Punjabi film industry over the past two decades. From the modest beginnings of being shown in a handful of cities to now being released on 1,400-1,500 screens and in 25 countries, Gurpreet emphasizes the remarkable growth of the industry.

He notes the evolution in both scale and scope, with films now being made with budgets of Rs 20-25 crore and achieving business upwards of Rs 100 crore. This transformation, he attributes to the infusion of grandeur, VFX, and increased market reach. Gurpreet also highlights the heightened level of professionalism within the industry as a positive development.

Having been part of the industry since his debut in the 2002 film ‘Jee Aayan Nu’, Gurpreet acknowledges the strides made and expresses his satisfaction with the current state of affairs. Directed by Mohit Banwait, ‘Ni Main Sass Kutni 2’ boasts a star-studded cast including Tanvi Nagi, Karamjit Anmol, Nirmal Rishi, Nisha Bano, and Anita Devgan.

With the film set to hit theaters on June 7, Gurpreet Ghuggi’s observations offer insight into the flourishing Punjabi film landscape, marked by increased professionalism, expanded markets, and greater cinematic achievements.
