Comedian Samay Raina Summoned Again by Cyber Cell, Expected to Appear on March 24
  • PublishedMarch 22, 2025

Maharashtra Cyber Cell has issued a third summon to comedian Samay Raina in connection with the India’s Got Latent case. Raina had previously skipped two summonses, citing that he was abroad. However, sources indicate that since he has now returned to India, he is likely to appear before officials on March 24.

On Thursday, Raina took to Instagram, informing his followers that his India tour was being rescheduled, and refunds would be processed soon.

The controversy erupted after a video from an episode of India’s Got lalent went viral. In the clip, Ranveer Allahabadia, a digital creator and podcaster who served as a judge, used offensive language. The backlash led to multiple FIRs being filed against Allahabadia, Raina (who hosted the show), and other judges. While Allahabadia has apologized and recorded his statement with the Cyber Cell, Raina’s testimony remains crucial for the investigation.

Both Mumbai’s Khar Police and the Cyber Cell are conducting separate inquiries into the matter. Due to the controversy, Raina’s stand-up performances in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata were canceled after he reportedly received threats from right-wing organizations.

The Cyber Cell has already taken statements from several judges who appeared on the show, including popular influencers. Raina’s response on March 24 will play a key role in determining the next steps of the case.
