Trump Declares ‘America is Back’ in Bold Congressional Address
U.S. President Donald Trump delivered a defiant address to Congress, touting his administration’s aggressive policy shifts, trade battles, and a crackdown on diversity programs as part of America’s rapid transformation.
“My fellow citizens, America is back,” Trump declared, receiving a standing ovation from Republican supporters. He highlighted sweeping actions, including enforcing reciprocal tariffs on India and other nations, banning diversity and inclusion programs in federal institutions, and significantly reducing the federal workforce.
Trump blamed his predecessor Joe Biden for inflation, vowing to restore economic affordability. “Egg prices are out of control, but we will fix it,” he said. He also defended his tariff strategy despite concerns about rising consumer prices. “Whatever they tax us, we tax them,” Trump asserted.
On foreign policy, Trump revealed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s willingness to negotiate peace and sign a minerals agreement. He also reinforced his stance against DEI initiatives, declaring, “Our country will no longer be woke,” and announced strict measures against transgender athletes in schools.
A standout moment came when Trump appointed 13-year-old cancer patient DJ Daniel as the youngest-ever U.S. Secret Service agent. Acknowledging Elon Musk’s role in downsizing government, Trump thanked him as Democrats protested. He also praised Melania Trump for advocating a federal law against posting intimate images online.
