PM Modi Applauds Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, Calls It a Cinematic Triumph
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised Chhaava, the historical film starring Vicky Kaushal, acknowledging its widespread impact and significance in Indian cinema. The film, based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, has been making waves across audiences.
Speaking on Maharashtra’s role in shaping Indian cinema, PM Modi said, “Ye Maharashtra aur Mumbai hi hai jisne Marathi filmo ke saath saath, Hindi cinema ko ye unchai di hai. Aur in dino toh, Chhaava ki dhoom machi hui hai.” (Maharashtra and Mumbai have elevated Hindi cinema along with Marathi films. And these days, Chhaava is making waves.)
He also highlighted the film’s historical essence, referencing the renowned Marathi novel that introduced many to Sambhaji Maharaj’s valor. Chhaava, directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, has drawn attention for its powerful storytelling.
Featuring Vicky Kaushal as Sambhaji Maharaj and Rashmika Mandanna as Yesubai Bhonsale, the film also stars Akshaye Khanna, Diana Penty, Ashutosh Rana, and Divya Dutta in key roles.
