Nikki Glaser Reflects on Historic Golden Globes Hosting Amid Pay Disparity

Stand-up comedian Nikki Glaser made history as the first solo female host of the Golden Globes in 2025, delivering a critically acclaimed performance. However, Glaser recently disclosed earning less than her male predecessor, sparking conversations about pay disparity in Hollywood.

Speaking on The Howard Stern Show, Glaser revealed, “I honestly would’ve done it for free. It’s an insane platform to be on.” While expressing gratitude for the opportunity, she emphasized her focus on the significance of the moment rather than financial compensation. “It’s not about the money for me. When people say, ‘You work so hard,’ I think, ‘Who wouldn’t?’ The stakes are so high,” she added.

Glaser hinted that her pay was lower than Jerrod Carmichael’s, who hosted the Golden Globes in 2023 and reportedly earned $500,000. Despite the disparity, Glaser remains optimistic, saying, “I’ll get more next year.” Reports suggest she has signed a three-year hosting contract with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

This year’s Golden Globes saw standout performances and major wins for Emilia Perez and Shogun, each earning four awards, while The Brutalist claimed three trophies.
