Critics’ Choice Awards 2025 Postponed Due to Los Angeles Wildfires.
The Critics’ Choice Awards 2025, originally scheduled for January 12, has been postponed due to the devastating wildfires currently ravaging Los Angeles. In light of the fires, which have tragically claimed two lives and caused widespread damage, the ceremony has been rescheduled for January 26.
Joey Berlin, CEO of the Critics’ Choice Awards, expressed sympathy for those affected by the disaster, stating, “This unfolding tragedy has already had a profound impact on our community. All our thoughts and prayers are with those battling the devastating fires and with all who have been affected.”
The wildfires have also forced the cancellation of numerous Hollywood events, including the BAFTA Tea Party, which was set for January 11 in Beverly Hills. A statement from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) read, “In light of the dangerous winds and wildfires in Los Angeles, we are cancelling this weekend’s BAFTA Tea Party. The safety of our colleagues, friends and peers in Los Angeles remains our utmost priority.”
The premieres of several films, including The Last Showgirl, Better Man, Wolf Man, and Unstoppable, have also been cancelled due to the ongoing fires.
The wildfires have led to the evacuation of over 70,000 people and disrupted the lives of numerous residents and celebrities, including Eugene Levy, James Woods, and Spencer Pratt, who were among those forced to evacuate.
