Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt Reach Divorce Settlement After Eight Years
Hollywood stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have reached a settlement in their prolonged divorce case, nearly eight years after Jolie filed for divorce in 2016. Her attorney, James Simon, confirmed the development, expressing Jolie’s relief but also her exhaustion after years of legal battles.
“More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all shared properties and focused on finding peace and healing for their family. This settlement is just one part of a long, ongoing process,” Simon said in a statement. While details of the settlement remain confidential, the case is expected to conclude once the documents are filed in court.
Jolie filed for divorce following allegations of abuse by Pitt during a private jet flight. The divorce was finalized in 2019, granting both parties single status, but issues related to asset division and child custody remained unresolved until now.
Jolie and Pitt, once among Hollywood’s most iconic couples, were together for 12 years and share six children. Their split marked one of the most closely watched divorces in entertainment history.
As the legal chapter comes to a close, both actors continue to focus on their careers. Jolie was last seen in the film Maria, while Pitt recently co-starred with George Clooney in Wolfs.
While Pitt’s legal team has yet to comment, the settlement marks a significant milestone in bringing closure to a complex and high-profile case.
