AAP Issues 24-Hour Ultimatum to Congress Over Allegations Against Kejriwal.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the Congress party, demanding immediate action against Congress leader Ajay Maken for his controversial remarks about Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Maken recently accused Kejriwal of misleading the public with false promises of welfare schemes, a statement that AAP has vehemently rejected.
Addressing the media, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh stated that Congress was working to undermine AAP and support the BJP’s interests in the upcoming Delhi elections. Singh also accused Congress of receiving financial support from the BJP, citing the case of Congress candidate Sandeep Dixit. Chief Minister Atishi echoed this sentiment, claiming that Congress’s actions signaled a covert alliance with the BJP aimed at defeating AAP in Delhi.
The latest controversy follows a complaint filed by the Youth Congress, alleging that two welfare schemes—Mahila Samman Yojana and Sanjeevani Yojana—announced by Kejriwal were non-existent, a claim the AAP strongly denies. Singh also condemned Maken for labeling Kejriwal as “anti-national” and urged the Congress leadership to take immediate disciplinary action.
AAP has warned that failure to act against Maken will force it to consult other parties within the INDIA alliance to seek Congress’s removal from the coalition. AAP remains committed to contesting the Delhi elections independently, aiming for a fourth consecutive term.
