A devastating accident on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway on Friday morning led to a massive fire that claimed eight lives and left 41 others injured. The tragedy occurred when a chemical-laden truck collided with an LPG tanker and multiple vehicles near a fuel pump in the Bhankrota area of Jaipur.
The collision triggered an inferno that quickly engulfed nearby vehicles and spread to the fuel station. At least 40 vehicles were gutted in the blaze, which required the efforts of 20 fire tenders to bring under control. Emergency services rushed to the scene, evacuating the injured to Sawai Man Singh Hospital for treatment.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma visited the hospital to meet the injured and directed officials to ensure the best medical care. In a heartfelt statement, he expressed his sorrow over the loss of lives and extended his prayers for the injured and their families. “The administration and emergency services are working diligently to provide relief. I pray for the souls of the departed and a speedy recovery for the injured,” he stated on X.
Jaipur District Magistrate Jitendra Soni confirmed the incident left 41 people injured. “Efforts to control the fire are ongoing, and relief work continues with full readiness,” he said.
