High Drama at Parliament: BJP MP Claims Injury, Rahul Gandhi Denies Allegations
Tensions escalated in Parliament on Thursday during a heated protest over Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks on Dr. BR Ambedkar. The altercation resulted in BJP MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi claiming injury and accusing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of pushing another MP, causing a chain reaction.
According to Sarangi, he was standing near the stairs when Rahul Gandhi allegedly pushed an MP, who then fell on him, leading to his own fall. “I was standing near the stairs when Rahul Gandhi came and pushed an MP who then fell on me,” Sarangi stated, describing the incident as “unfortunate and avoidable.”
In his defense, Rahul Gandhi refuted the allegations, asserting that he was near the entrance when BJP MPs deliberately blocked his path. “I was simply trying to navigate my way when the commotion started,” he said, dismissing claims of intentional misconduct.
The incident has sparked outrage and further deepened the divide between the ruling party and the opposition, overshadowing crucial discussions in Parliament. Calls for an internal inquiry to ascertain the facts have been made by both sides.
