Tragic Dehradun Car Crash Claims Six College Students, Leaves Families in Grief
Six college students tragically lost their lives, and another was critically injured in a high-speed car accident in Dehradun in the early hours of Tuesday. The crash occurred around 1:30 a.m. at ONGC Chowk when the students’ car, allegedly racing a BMW, rear-ended a truck, resulting in severe damage and fatalities. Authorities have identified the deceased as Kunal Kukreja, 23; Atul Agrawal, 24; Rishabh Jain, 24; Navya Goel, 23; Kamakshi, 20; and Guneet, 19.
CCTV footage and a video obtained by India Today TV reveal that the students were seen partying and allegedly consuming alcohol shortly before the crash. Police have not confirmed if intoxication was involved, as autopsy reports are still pending. Meanwhile, CCTV footage from the accident scene is being analyzed as part of the investigation.
In the moments following the accident, 25-year-old Siddhesh Agrawal’s iPhone triggered an emergency SOS, alerting authorities and potentially saving his life. Siddhesh remains in critical condition, and his family has appealed for privacy and empathy, urging the public to refrain from speculation until the investigation concludes.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his condolences, mourning the loss of young lives and offering support to the bereaved families.
