Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the BJP’s campaign in Maharashtra with a rally, critiquing the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance and accusing it of internal strife over its chief ministerial candidate. With the Maharashtra elections approaching on November 20, PM Modi emphasized BJP-led Mahayuti’s stability and good governance, contrasting it with the MVA’s previous 2.5-year term, which he described as riddled with political upheavals and policy hindrances.
PM Modi alleged that the Congress, a major MVA partner, has a history of dividing communities, warning that their current agenda is focused on creating divisions among India’s Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes. Linking this approach to the tragic outcomes of past partition, he called it “the biggest conspiracy in India.” He emphasized the importance of unity for national strength, urging citizens to “stay united for safety.”
PM Modi also highlighted recent events in Jammu and Kashmir, accusing the Congress and the INDIA alliance of advancing divisive agendas by passing a resolution to restore Article 370.
Confident in the BJP-led Mahayuti’s track record, PM Modi appealed to Maharashtra’s voters to choose a government that prioritizes progress over political chaos. Maharashtra will vote in a single phase on November 20, with votes to be counted on November 23.
