Mumbai Police have registered a case after a chilling death threat was made against Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan. The threat was delivered via a call to the Bandra Police station, demanding ₹50 lakh to spare the actor’s life. Authorities are investigating the case in collaboration with the Cyber Police Station and have traced the call to Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Investigative teams have already left for Chhattisgarh to apprehend the suspect.
This is the latest in a string of death threats targeting Bollywood stars, with fellow actor Salman Khan having received multiple threats recently. On November 5, a threat message, allegedly from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, demanded an apology or ₹5 crore from Salman Khan to ensure his safety. The gang has reportedly been targeting him for refusing to apologize at a temple. In an earlier incident, a ransom of ₹2 crore was demanded from Salman Khan, and the Mumbai Police arrested a man from Jamshedpur in connection with that case.
The police have registered the case against the unknown caller under Sections 308(4) and 351(3)(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. While no arrests have been made yet, efforts to ensure the safety of both actors are ongoing. This recent wave of threats has raised concerns about the security of Bollywood celebrities, prompting tighter surveillance and investigation.
