Actor Darshan Thoogudeepa Granted Interim Bail by Karnataka High Court for Surgery.

The Karnataka High Court has granted interim bail to Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, who is currently in custody in connection with the alleged murder of 33-year-old Renukaswamy. The actor, who was named in the chargesheet, sought bail on medical grounds to undergo spine surgery.

During the hearing, Darshan’s legal counsel submitted medical reports highlighting that he was experiencing numbness in both feet, necessitating urgent medical intervention. The actor has been granted six weeks of interim bail to undergo surgery at a private facility in Mysuru, which he will personally finance.

This temporary relief follows Darshan’s petition citing health concerns as the primary reason for his bail request. The court’s decision permits him to remain out of custody for six weeks to focus on medical treatment. However, the actor will need to adhere to any conditions stipulated by the court during this period.

Darshan was arrested in June 2024, along with several others, in connection with the alleged murder of Renukaswamy. Initially held in Bengaluru, he was later transferred to Ballari Prison following allegations of VIP treatment in custody.

The actor’s legal team emphasized the importance of immediate surgery to prevent further complications in his health. This development in the high-profile case brings temporary relief to Darshan while the investigation and legal proceedings continue.
