Acclaimed veteran actor Boman Irani has added another feather to his cap by winning the Best Actor Male award at the International Film Festival of South Asia (IFFSA) Toronto for his remarkable performance in The Mehta Boys. This film also marks his directorial debut, showcasing his multifaceted talent in the industry.

Following his recent accolade from the South Asian Film Association (SAFA) at the Chicago South Asian Film Festival on September 20, Irani’s performance in The Mehta Boys has received widespread acclaim for its emotional depth and humor. In the film, he navigates the complexities of a father-son relationship with remarkable authenticity, captivating audiences and critics alike.

Sharing his joy on Instagram, Irani expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating, “Best Actor Male Feature Film – Boman Irani for The Mehta Boys. I bring to life a complex character with a deft blend of humor and depth, engaging audiences from the very first scene.”

The Mehta Boys, co-written with Oscar-winning writer Alexander Dinelaris Jr. (Birdman), follows a father and son at odds who are compelled to spend 48 hours together. The film, featuring Irani alongside Avinash Tiwary, is set to premiere on Prime Video soon.
