Zoe Saldana Reflects on Gamora’s Arc and Praises Marvel Films as ‘Deep’.

Acclaimed Hollywood star Zoe Saldana has expressed her desire to reshoot certain scenes from her role as Gamora in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). In a recent interview with Variety, Saldana opened up about feeling that she didn’t fully grasp her character’s emotional depth during the filming of the Avengers movies.

“I wish I could go back and reshoot what Gamora was going through in the Avengers films,” Saldana said. “I wasn’t fully understanding what Anthony and Joe Russo were trying to achieve. It was an amazing opportunity to play a daughter with complex issues with her father and explore whether she reconciles or walks away. Had I been more aware of that at the time, I would have pushed harder.”

Saldana praised the Russo Brothers for their vision and expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to bring Gamora to life in the MCU, including in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, directed by James Gunn.

The actor also defended Marvel films against critics who label them as mere “theme park” entertainment. “I know people hesitate to call Marvel films ‘deep,’ but I do. I’m proud to have been part of movies that inspire younger audiences and leave a lasting impact.”

Saldana debuted as Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy and reprised the role across multiple Marvel films, becoming a key part of one of the most beloved superhero franchises.
