X Account Behind 46 of 70 Recent Flight Bomb Threats in India Suspended
In a recent surge of hoax bomb threats targeting Indian airlines, 46 of the 70 threats reported this week were traced back to a single X account, @adamlanza1111, which has since been suspended. The anonymous and unverified account posted threats to both domestic and international flights, including those of Air India, IndiGo, SpiceJet, and more. On Friday night, 12 threats were posted, followed by an alarming 34 on Saturday, disrupting operations of several airlines.
The threats included identical messages warning that bombs were planted on five flights, urging immediate evacuation and claiming, “No one will make out alive.” Some flights were airborne at the time the threats were posted, while others had already completed their journeys.
The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) held an emergency meeting with airline representatives in Delhi, led by Director General Zulfiquar Hasan, to discuss the security challenges. Hasan reassured the public that safety protocols are in place and urged passengers to continue flying without fear.
The suspended account had also issued threats to international carriers like American Airlines and JetBlue. Despite the disruptions, no credible threats have been identified, and authorities are actively investigating the source of these hoaxes.
