Loud Explosion Near CRPF School in Delhi, Probe Suggests Crude Bomb Blast
  • PublishedOctober 20, 2024

A loud explosion near a CRPF school in Rohini, Delhi, triggered a police investigation on Sunday morning. The blast, which occurred near the school’s boundary wall, damaged the wall, nearby shops, and a car. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, according to officials from the Delhi Fire Services (DFS).

Emergency services, including fire engines, bomb squads, and forensic teams, rushed to the scene after a PCR call was made at 7:47 am. Upon arrival, officers discovered shattered windows and a foul smell at the site. The crime scene has since been cordoned off for a detailed investigation. Initial findings suggest the explosion might have been caused by a crude bomb, although forensic teams are still analyzing the materials to confirm this.

Senior police officers, including members of the crime branch and the Special Cell, arrived at the scene. While no terror links have been found, the authorities are thoroughly investigating all possibilities, including the chance that the explosion could have been caused by a firecracker.

The incident has raised concerns about public safety, especially as it follows a week marked by numerous bomb threats to flights. Police are reviewing CCTV footage as part of the investigation.
