Zee Studios and acclaimed actor-director Kangana Ranaut are thrilled to announce that their much-anticipated film Emergency has received its censor certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film, which explores pivotal moments in Indian history, has been cleared with a U/A certificate after incorporating recommended changes.
Kangana Ranaut took to social media to express her gratitude and excitement, stating, “We are glad to announce we have received the censor certificate for our movie Emergency. We will be announcing the release date soon. Thank you for your patience and support.”
The certification follows the makers’ compliance with the board’s revising committee, which suggested 13 changes, including removing certain violent scenes and revising a dialogue referencing Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale as ‘saint.’ These changes were made following concerns raised by several Sikh groups.
Zee Studios confirmed during a Bombay High Court hearing that all modifications requested by the CBFC have been implemented to ensure the film’s release without controversy. Sources close to the production have hinted that the release will likely follow the Punjab elections in November to avoid political sensitivities.
Emergency, directed by and starring Kangana Ranaut, holds great significance for the team, who aim to offer a meaningful cinematic experience to audiences at the right time.
