Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin expressed deep condolences over the tragic death of five people following the Indian Air Force’s air show at Chennai’s Marina Beach on Sunday. Speaking on the issue, Stalin emphasized that the state authorities had provided all necessary cooperation and facilities, going beyond what the IAF had initially requested for the event.
At least five people lost their lives, and over 100 were hospitalized due to heat-related issues during the air show. In response, CM Stalin has announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh for the families of those who died. He acknowledged that people faced significant challenges in reaching their vehicles and accessing public transport after the event, as the turnout exceeded expectations.
“The Tamil Nadu government had made necessary arrangements beyond what was asked for by the IAF. However, the large number of attendees led to unforeseen difficulties. In the future, greater attention will be paid to transportation and crowd management at large events,” Stalin assured.
Additionally, actor and politician Thalapathy Vijay offered his condolences, urging the state government to implement more effective facilities and security measures for large-scale events in the future.
