U.S. Reaffirms Ironclad Support for Israel Amid Iranian Missile Attack.
The United States has pledged unwavering support for Israel following a massive Iranian ballistic missile attack on Tuesday. Over 180 missiles were launched at Israel in an unprecedented escalation. President Joe Biden declared that the U.S. will ensure Iran faces “severe consequences” for the strike, and emphasized that the U.S. is “fully supportive” of Israel’s defense efforts.
In coordination with Israeli forces, U.S. military assets, including two Arleigh Burke-class destroyers, USS Cole and USS Bulkeley, were deployed to intercept the barrage. The Pentagon confirmed that U.S. forces fired a dozen interceptors, helping neutralize the threat. Israeli and U.S. defense coordination successfully minimized damage and casualties.
“This joint effort between the U.S. and Israel is a testament to the professionalism and preparedness of both nations’ militaries,” said National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan. The U.S. continues to closely monitor the region for further threats.
U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin held multiple communications with his Israeli counterpart throughout the attack, reaffirming America’s commitment to Israel’s defense and regional stability. The White House also confirmed that President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were actively overseeing the situation from the Situation Room.
The attack came in retaliation for the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. The U.S. remains vigilant and prepared to counter future threats to Israel and its own forces in the region.
