Govinda Hospitalized After Accidental Gunshot, Condition Stable.

Renowned actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda was hospitalized in Mumbai early Tuesday morning after accidentally shooting himself in the leg with his licensed revolver. The incident occurred at around 4:45 am while Govinda was cleaning the firearm in preparation for a trip to Kolkata for an event.

According to his manager, Shashi Sinha, the revolver slipped from the actor’s hand and discharged, hitting him below the knee. Govinda was rushed to CritiCare Hospital, where doctors successfully removed the bullet. The 60-year-old actor is now in stable condition and out of danger, as confirmed by hospital authorities and his wife, Sunita Ahuja, who was not in Mumbai at the time.

Govinda’s daughter is currently by his side at the hospital. His manager emphasized that Govinda is expected to make a full recovery soon.

Known for his iconic roles in Bollywood hits like Aankhen, Coolie No. 1, and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Govinda made a political comeback earlier this year, joining the Eknath Shinde faction of the Shiv Sena.

The actor previously served as a Member of Parliament for the Mumbai North-West constituency after winning the 2004 election on a Congress ticket.
