‘Jungle Raj in Delhi’: Kejriwal Slams Amit Shah Over Deteriorating Law and Order
  • PublishedSeptember 29, 2024

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal criticized Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday, accusing him of allowing a “complete jungle raj” in the national capital. Kejriwal’s remarks came after three shooting incidents occurred within 24 hours, leaving residents feeling increasingly unsafe.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Kejriwal said, “Law and order has collapsed in Delhi. People are feeling unsafe in the country’s capital. Amit Shah ji will have to take immediate and effective steps.”

AAP Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj also expressed concern, noting the absence of the Delhi Lieutenant Governor, who is on a foreign trip, and the inactivity of BJP MPs. Bharadwaj highlighted a string of incidents, including shootings for extortion at a Nangloi sweet shop and a Naraina car showroom, along with a jewelry heist in Gulabi Bagh.

Bharadwaj urged the lieutenant governor to fulfill his responsibilities, accusing him of spending the past two years obstructing the Delhi government’s efforts. He stated, “You have completely failed in the responsibility that is yours.”

These remarks follow a rise in violent incidents, including a gang-related shooting at a south Delhi hotel, further escalating concerns about the state of law and order in the capital.
