Zomato Co-Founder and Chief People Officer Akriti Chopra Resigns After 13-Year Tenure.
Zomato co-founder and Chief People Officer, Akriti Chopra, has stepped down from her position, marking the end of her 13-year journey with the company. The food delivery giant announced her resignation in a statement to the stock exchanges, effective immediately.
Chopra, who joined Zomato in 2011 as a senior manager in finance and operations, played a pivotal role in the company’s growth over the years. In her resignation email addressed to Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal, she expressed gratitude for her time with the company, stating, “Deepi, as discussed, I am formally submitting my resignation, effective today, September 27, 2024. These 13 years have been an incredibly enriching journey. Thank you for everything. I’m just a call away. Wishing you and Eternal all the very best.”
Throughout her career at Zomato, Chopra held key positions, including serving as Chief Financial Officer before handing over the role to Akshant Goyal in 2020. Most recently, she contributed as Chief People Officer, overseeing people strategy and culture for the company.
Zomato has yet to announce a successor for Chopra’s role but expressed gratitude for her long-standing contributions to the company.
