Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to the United States, praised the contributions of Indian-Americans, calling them ‘Rashtradoots’ or India’s brand ambassadors. Addressing a gathering of around 13,000 people at the ‘Modi and US’ event at Nassau Coliseum, Long Island, New York, PM Modi highlighted the crucial role played by the Indian diaspora in representing India’s culture and values globally.

“I have always understood the capabilities of the Indian community, even when I held no official position. For me, all of you have been strong brand ambassadors of India. This is why I call you ‘Rashtradoots’,” PM Modi said to a cheering crowd. He emphasized the unity and diversity that define India, noting, “We belong to a country with dozens of languages, all faiths and religions of the world, and yet we move forward united.”

PM Modi’s visit is part of a three-day tour to the US, which also includes bilateral discussions with US President Joe Biden in Wilmington, Delaware, and participation in the Quad Leaders’ Summit. Discussions covered key issues such as maritime security, health, climate change, and geopolitical matters.

The visit will conclude with PM Modi addressing the Summit of Future at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York on Monday, further strengthening India-US ties and discussing global challenges.
