Kamala Harris and Oprah Winfrey to Host Virtual “Unite for America” Event Targeting Key Battleground States.
U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris will join media mogul Oprah Winfrey for a virtual “Unite for America” event aimed at mobilizing voter support in crucial battleground states. The event, scheduled for Thursday at 8 pm EDT, is organized by grassroots groups, including Win with Black Women, and will be livestreamed across platforms like Instagram and TikTok.
Focused on increasing voter registration and engagement in states like Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Georgia, the event seeks to rally communities in the lead-up to the pivotal November 5 election. Harris, who has been campaigning in Detroit, will connect with voters in real time, supported by dozens of grassroots organizations such as Latinas for Harris, Republicans for Harris, and Win With Black Men.
Oprah Winfrey, a long-time advocate for voter participation, emphasized the importance of voter turnout, stating, “What is essential to me is getting people motivated to vote, and ensuring everyone makes a plan not only for themselves, but for their families and friends.”
The “Unite for America” initiative has already raised over $20 million for Harris’s campaign, with strong support from groups like Win with Black Women, which has been rallying for Harris since her candidacy began.
In recent polls, Harris leads her opponent, Donald Trump, in key battleground states. The event aims to further galvanize support as the race heads into its final stretch.
