Additi Gupta, well-known for her work in television, has made her much-anticipated OTT debut in IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack. In an exclusive interview, Additi shared her excitement and challenges in transitioning from TV to digital, highlighting her journey in this gripping project.
Playing the role of an air hostess during the infamous hijack, Additi’s character navigates tense moments aboard the captured aircraft. One memorable scene sees her cleaning an overflowing toilet, a task that turned out to be surprisingly edible, as she humorously revealed. “Yes, it looked super gross, but it was edible material,” she laughed. “It was a tough but hilarious experience.”
The actor also addressed the controversy surrounding her character calling one of the hijackers ‘cute.’ Defending the moment, she said, “It was a normal conversation between two friends, and her character didn’t know who he was at the time.”
Additi praised director Anubhav Sinha for acknowledging her performance, stating, “It was really special of him to write a note for me. It shows his humility as a leader.”
Excited to continue exploring new roles on OTT, Additi expressed her desire to share the screen with veterans like Naseeruddin Shah and Pankaj Kapur in future projects. With her performance in IC 814, Additi Gupta has marked a powerful entry into the digital space.
