Reports Suggest Israel Orchestrated Explosive Pagers in Hezbollah Attack.
  • PublishedSeptember 19, 2024

In a shocking turn of events, new reports suggest that Israel might have covertly manufactured explosive pagers used by Hezbollah members in Lebanon, leading to a devastating series of detonations on Tuesday and Wednesday. The synchronized explosions, which caused widespread chaos and left dozens dead or injured, were initially believed to be the result of Israel infiltrating Hezbollah’s supply chain. However, recent revelations indicate that Israeli intelligence may have gone a step further by establishing shell companies to produce these explosive-laden devices.

According to an investigative report from The New York Times, Israel set up a shell company, BAC Consulting, in Hungary to manufacture the pagers under a brand licensing agreement with Taiwanese firm Gold Apollo. The pagers, intended to be used for secure communication, were rigged with explosives and delivered directly to Hezbollah.

Hezbollah adopted pagers as a secure communication tool after warnings from leader Hassan Nasrallah to avoid hackable cellphones. Israeli intelligence capitalized on this, creating the pagers which were later remotely detonated, leading to widespread panic across Lebanon.

The explosions targeted Hezbollah members and even affected an Iranian diplomat, who was injured when his pager exploded. Israeli officials have not claimed responsibility, but multiple intelligence sources point to Mossad’s involvement in the operation.

This covert operation is being hailed as one of Israel’s most intricate intelligence feats, as it successfully disrupted Hezbollah’s operations and severely damaged its communication infrastructure.
