Second Train Derailment Attempt in Two Days Thwarted in Ajmer, Rajasthan.

In a second attempt to derail a train within two days, unidentified assailants placed two cement blocks on the rail track in Ajmer, Rajasthan, on Sunday night. The blocks, each weighing 70 kg, were strategically placed between Saradhna and Bangad stations on the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor.

Despite the goods train hitting the cement blocks at around 10:30 PM, the train continued its journey without any damage. Upon receiving information about the incident, railway employees discovered a broken cement block on the track. Further inspection led to the discovery of a second block placed at some distance on the same track.

The local police have registered an FIR under the Railway Act and the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act. A thorough investigation into the incident is currently underway.

This incident follows another attempted derailment on the same day in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, where the Kalindi Express, traveling from Prayagraj to Bhiwani, hit an LPG cylinder placed on the track. The train’s loco pilot successfully brought the train to a halt after spotting the cylinder, along with other suspicious items like a petrol bottle and matchboxes.

Kanpur Police have detained six suspects related to the incident. BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia condemned the attempts, stating that strict action would be taken against those responsible for such dangerous acts.

Both incidents are under investigation, with authorities emphasizing the need for heightened security measures on railway tracks.
