Historic Moment on KBC 16 as First Adivasi Contestant Banti Vadiva Wins Rs 50 Lakh.
In a landmark episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 (KBC), Banti Vadiva, the first Adivasi contestant to appear on the show, made a remarkable journey by winning Rs 50 lakh. Hosted by Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, the episode aired on September 5, 2024, and showcased Banti’s incredible knowledge and determination.
Banti faced the Rs 1 crore question, which asked: “In 1948, which of these did the Bengali sculptor Chintamoni Kar win for an artwork titled ‘The Stag’?” The options were A. Pythagoras Prize, B. Nobel Prize, C. Olympic Medal, and D. Oscar Medal. Unsure of the correct answer, Banti wisely quit the game, securing his Rs 50 lakh prize. His “Pythagoras Prize” guess was incorrect, as the correct answer was “Olympic Medal.”
Amitabh Bachchan shared the intriguing history behind the question, revealing that art competitions were held in the 1948 London Olympics, and Chintamoni Kar won a silver medal for his artwork.
Banti’s incredible story of coming to Mumbai with just Rs 260 in his bank account and leaving KBC with over Rs 50 lakh has inspired millions. Amitabh Bachchan praised Banti for his wisdom, stating, “It doesn’t matter where you come from, but what matters is the knowledge that you hold.”
KBC 16 continues to air on Sony TV and is available for live streaming on SonyLIV.
