Audi Italy is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Fabrizio Longo, the Director of Audi Italy, who tragically lost his life in a mountain climbing accident near the Italian-Swiss border on Sunday, September 1, 2024. Fabrizio Longo was 62 years old.
Longo, an avid and experienced mountain climber, fell approximately 10,000 feet while climbing in the Alps despite using the required safety equipment. The accident occurred near a gorge, and emergency services were called by another climber who witnessed the fall. A helicopter rescue team located his body 700 feet down the gorge. Unfortunately, Longo was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was transported to the nearby town of Carisolo. Local authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
Fabrizio Longo had a distinguished career in the automotive industry, which began in 1987. He joined Audi in 2012 and was appointed as the Director of Audi Italy in 2013, where he led with unwavering dedication and integrity. He was known for his strong values and his genuine care for his team, creating a workplace characterized by warmth and respect.
