Smriti Irani Criticizes Rahul Gandhi’s “Changed” Political Strategy
BJP leader Smriti Irani took a sharp jab at Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, stating that he has adopted a new approach to politics following his perceived success. Speaking on a recent podcast, Irani commented on Gandhi’s strategic maneuvers, suggesting he is making “calculated moves” aimed at specific demographics.
“When he talks about caste or wears a white T-shirt in Parliament, he is aware of the message it sends to the youth,” Irani remarked. She cautioned against underestimating Gandhi’s tactics, noting that while some may view his actions as “good, bad, or childish,” they represent a different form of politics.
Irani also criticized the Congress party’s earlier “soft Hindutva” approach, including Gandhi’s temple visits, which she argued failed to connect with voters. “Rahul Gandhi did not gain traction from his temple visits. They became the butt of jokes,” Irani asserted.
According to Irani, Gandhi’s recent shift to caste politics is part of a broader strategy to maintain his relevance. She further accused him of using provocative statements to stay in the spotlight, citing his controversial remark on the lack of Dalit or Adivasi contestants in Miss India.
“These are not his genuine beliefs; it’s all part of a strategy,” Irani concluded, questioning the sincerity behind Gandhi’s political positioning.
